On October 31, 2025, the Sidama Public Health Institute (SPHI) began an important training program on research ethics and scientific integrity. The training brought together 35 participants, including SPHI staff and other stakeholders, all eager to learn more about ethical research practices.
This training, organized by SPHI and the Ministry of Education, has a full schedule focusing on current issues and global trends in research ethics. Experienced trainers from the Ministry of Education led the sessions, with some joining virtually to ensure everyone could participate.
Participants will take part in discussions and workshops on key topics such as informed consent and the history of research ethics. The mix of in-person and virtual training shows a commitment to making learning accessible for everyone.
As the program continues over the next two days, attendees look forward to improving their understanding of ethical research practices, which will help enhance public health and research integrity in Ethiopia.
